Camp Courage - Maple Lake, Minnesota

Camp Courage offers summer camp programs for children and adults with physical disabilities, sensory and language impairments, and other disabilities or illnesses. Camp Courage also welcomes your Retreat group with the beauty and serenity of the Minnesota prairie, woodlands and lakeshore. It's two campuses located on 305 acres can comfortably accommodate groups from 15 to 300. Overnight accommodations include roomy, modern, accessible cabins for large groups or cozy double occupancy rooms.  Camp Courage is located west of Maple Lake, about 45 miles west of Minneapolis.

In addition to the traditional summer camping programs for children and adults with physical or sensory disabilities or speech/language impairments, the camp also offers a number of unique special programs and sessions, often in cooperation with other organizations in order to combine expertise. Camp combines woodland, lakeshore and wetland habitats, as well as an indoor heated pool, gymnasium, and numerous accessible outdoor recreation areas. Program options are varied and extensive. Each campus has a 72 camper per-session capacity and a well-trained staff of 45, for a staff-to-camper ratio of better than 1:2. Consequently, campers have a fun and educational experience in a nurturing, natural environment that promotes independence, safety and new experiences.

For retreat groups, we offer your group a variety of meeting areas, from intimate lounges to a large auditorium. A successful retreat or conference allows ample opportunity for your group to play as well as time for individual reflection. Camp Courage fulfills both needs. Your group can enjoy the heated indoor pool and gymnasium in the recreation center or take advantage of the tennis courts and the athletic field. Camp Courage also features a natural history museum for the naturalists in your group. For quiet times, we offer wooded trails, campfires, cross-country ski trails, and sunsets over Cedar Lake.


Courage North - Lake George, Minnesota

Courage North offers various summer camps, as well as retreat and conference opportunities deep in the majestic pines of northern Minnesota. The contemporary log design of Courage North's buildings add to the warmth and beauty of the camp. Courage North is an ideal meeting place for groups of up to 80 people.  Courage North is located on Highway 71 in Hubbard County, Minnesota, 35 miles north of Park Rapids and one mile east of Lake George.

Courage North offers traditional summer camping programs for children and adults with physical or sensory disabilities deep in its 90 acres of majestic pines. The camp also offers a number of unique special programs and sessions, often in cooperation with other organizations in order to combine expertise. The camp has a 48 camper per-session capacity and a well-trained staff of 30, for a staff-to-camper ratio of better than 1:2. Programming at Courage North emphasizes learning independence and responsibility by encouraging camper involvement in all aspects of the camp operation. Consequently, campers have a fun and educational experience in a nurturing, natural environment that promotes independence, safety and new experiences.

Courage North also offers retreat and conference opportunities deep in the majestic pines of northern Minnesota. The contemporary log design of Courage North's buildings add to the warmth and beauty of the camp. Courage North is an ideal meeting place for groups of up to 80 people. It offers six modern, accessible log cabins for overnight groups, a dining hall with meeting space and the King Center, which houses a kitchen, meeting rooms and a gymnasium. There is an additional meeting space in the crafts building. In addition to the recreational opportunities provided in the King Center, Courage North offers your group many outdoor activities as well. Enjoy hiking and cross-country skiing trails, or fishing in the clear water of Lake George. Courage North is also located near Itasca State Park and the towns of Bemidji and Walker.
